Youth Employment
SETA (Sacramento Employment & Training Agency) currently partners with community-based organizations and school districts to provide the WIA (Work Investment Act) Youth Services. The Sacramento Works WIA Youth program is delivered collaboratively in the Career Centers. The Sacramento WIA program serves both In-School and Out-of-School youth aged 16 to 21 and focuses on three primary goals: Improving Academic Achievement, Preparing for and Succeeding in Employment and Supporting Youth Development.
SCCSC runs the WIA In-School Youth Program at the Franklin & Hillsdale Career Centers for high school students aged 16 to 18. The program offers service learning & leadership activities, paid work experience, school completion services, supportive services and counseling services. Youth Specialists are also stationed at each One Stop to help youth access employment and training resources.
